Social Cohesion and Democracy in Dialogue: Migrant Perspectives and Civic Engagement in Saxony-Anhalt and Bonn

A dialogue among activists from immigrant associations, initiatives, other organizations, and scholars

Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
At MIGRApolis – Haus der Vielfalt, Brüdergasse 16-18, 53111 Bonn

organised by: Bonn Platform for Forced Migration Studies

How can we bring people together and strengthen social cohesion—especially in politically and socially challenging times? Migrant associations and local initiatives do important work every day to promote harmonious coexistence. But what challenges are they currently facing? How can we reach new people, break down prejudices, and enable greater participation?

Together with you, we’d like to exchange experiences, learn about successful approaches, and develop ideas for the future.

The focus will be on the dialogue between Saxony-Anhalt and Bonn:
What can we learn from each other, and how can we break new ground together? Your experiences, ideas, and questions are at the heart of this event! Together, we’d like to explore how practitioners and academics can collaborate to strengthen civic engagement, participation, and democratic coexistence.

We look forward to an open discussion!
